Beam Splitters
A beam splitter is made of 2 triangular prisms glued together at their base. Thickness of resin layer is adjusted such that for a certain wavelength half of incident light through one face of the cube is reflected and the other half is transmitted. Polarizeing beam splitters (PBS) use birefringent materials, splitting light into beams of different polarization.
